HipHopMuse.com began as a creative outlet sharing my appreciation for hip hop culture. I started this blog in 2008 after I lost my dream marketing job on the cusp of an economic catastrophe. This blog served as a creative project and place of solace in the midst of chaos. Over time it has become a personal style blog that focuses on fashion, music, food, natural beauty, and inspiring creativity in myself and others.

My name is Toi. I’m a second generation Los Angeleno and child of the 90s. I was born during the Reagan administration and I remember clearly what life was like before texting, Twitter, and Facebook swept the world. I came of age on girl groups like TLC and Destiny’s Child, and I still think Foxy Brown is the coldest rapper alive.  I have a degree in English Literature and currently work in email marketing.
